Licenses held by people under 21 years of age will have a red box on the card that shows when they will be 21. New credentials will also be issued with designated header colors that indicate the type of license you have. The new design features nearly double the fraud protection measures, including redundant data, ultraviolet (UV) ink and optically variable features. Officials say that the new design not only has a completely new look and feel, but also includes double the fraud protection measures compared to the previous design. Portrait images will now be printed with a transparent background and appear in four locations on the credential. On the back, an image of the state of Florida rests among ocean waves and the year 1845 is displayed, referring to the year Florida became the 27th state in the Union. The front of the card's design has a pastel-colored linear rendering of the Florida state seal and a large orange “FL” over a stark white base. The Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has announced that Florida driver licenses and ID cards will be getting a new look.
